Lancashire Careers Hub is a collaboration of 154 secondary schools and colleges across the whole region who work together to deliver the Gatsby benchmarks. Collaborating with business partners, the public, education and voluntary sectors, they help improve careers outcomes for young people.
Lancashire Careers Hub contacted us to help build a brand new portal website that would be a central database where all of the 154 schools they work with could search and browse careers resources based on different filtering options associated to education levels.
The website had to also include a separate events and competitions section where schools could easily browse and share with students.
The resources and events had to be simple to manage and easy to add to the website.
We devised a modern technical website but with a simple interface. Behind the scenes we built a custom user interface to easily add and update careers resources. We built custom templates to showcase each resource. We then implemented a bespoke filtering system in order for the schools and careers advisors to drill down to their exact requirements of resources.
We also implanted an events and competitions section utilising the same features as we did when building the careers resources, but without the filters.
